It Burns Propane!

The new van runs on propane or LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas)! I am so excited to have a new alternative fuel vehicle!

OK, we bought it, but we don't have it yet. Kwae is fixing a couple of things and signing his artwork. It is a 1996 Kia Towner with 50,000 miles. Height 6' x Width 4' x Length 10' 6". It seats 7, maybe, and has a 5 speed manual. Kwae is the starving art student that did the painting. He has owned the van for about two years and speaks a bit of English. He also paints murals in subway stations.

One more thing, it has frolicking zebras on the other side.

Pandae Ice Park

Sometimes Koreans have incredible ideas. In this case the wonderful idea is to pump a bunch of sub freezing water up to the top of a cliff and let it freeze into some great ice. This was a really fun and we got to see some some of the best climbers in Korea at this reservation only crag. We also got to see a Korean climber take a 15m headfirst lead fall onto a single screw in not so great ice.

I have been so bad at updating my blog because we got an iPod. It is really cool.

Long weekend!

Mel and I had a wonderful four day weekend of exploring Korea and ice climbing.  We found tons of frozen waterfalls that were either way too easy or way too hard for our rudimentary ice climbing abilities.  The warm weather we have been experiencing recently contributed to our lack of success.  Many falls that would have been right at our level just weren't in.  Yesterday we chose instead to climb in the indoor environs of the O2 ice gym.  This is a 30 m high walk in freezer that is the biggest indoor ice climbing facility in the world.  We learned alot during our one hour session and flailed even more.
